TOCAIA (RIO DE JANEIRO) live @Toekomstmuziek Amsterdam
The newest and coolest Forró group Tocaia comes to Amsterdam for an evening full of dance, community, song and laughter. A rare chance to see this group in Europe, which is conquering the internet and the hearts of Forró lovers. The dancing and lively show invites the audience to immerse themselves in the universe of Forró. The classic formation of a “pé de serra” trio: zabumba, triangle and accordion, complemented by the “rabecado” violin, creates a modern sound with traditional roots. The repertoire and arrangements are carefully selected and inspired by Latin American music, adding new rhythmic and harmonic elements that make the experience unique. In the songs, performed by the distinctive and unique voices of Mari Jasca and Bela Ciavatta, who are also the band's percussionists, the counterpoints and accompaniments of Renata Neves' violin and Paloma Ronai's accordion add layers of depth and musical richness that often make the audience stop dancing to contemplate the sonic performance.
