A nostalgic, underground classical night.
Les Cris de Paris and the L’Immédiat company explore the works of Monteverdi through the lens of dance. This performance creates an imaginary ballet where sacred and secular themes meet, featuring vocal virtuosity and instrumental color. Monteverdi’s use of dance in the early 17th century bridged popular influences with courtly fashion. Known for expressing intense emotion through both music and drama, he utilized dance for theatrical impact in his madrigals and pastorals. Under the direction of Geoffroy Jourdain, the ensemble joins forces with Camille Boitel and Sève Bernard to bring Monteverdi’s music to life through a joyful and technical dance exploration.
