The Dimitris Kalantzis Quartet, joined by vocalist Athina Rootsi, performs jazz arrangements of iconic 50s and 60s Greek music. The repertoire focuses on composers such as Giannidis, Kapnisis, Spartakos, Mouzakis, and Morakis, transforming classic "light" songs into mainstream jazz compositions. This performance, like the ensemble's eponymous album, is dedicated to the late Greek jazz pianist Manolis Mikelis. The group maintains a strict jazz character while exploring a wide range of musical history, from classical influences to cinematic themes.
