Hoe kan tekst een componist inspireren? En wat gebeurt er als je drie componisten dezelfde poëzie geeft als bron voor hun muziek? Dirigent Johanna Soller laat het horen in een programma met beeldschone muziek van Bach én de hedendaagse componist Gregor A. Mayrhofer. In 1726 doet Bach het, na jaren van onvoorstelbare werkdrift en creativiteit, ineens wat rustiger aan. Hij componeert minder, maar wat hij schrijft heeft één inspiratiebron in het bijzonder: een poëziebundel uit het begin van de 18e eeuw van hertog Ernst Ludwig von Sachsen-Meiningen. Bach voert in 1726 ook veel cantates van zijn achterneef Johann Ludwig Bach uit. De inspiratiebron van Johann Ludwig? Dezelfde dichtbundel. Nu, 300 jaar later, neemt de jonge Duitse componist Gregor A. Mayrhofer de poëzie opnieuw ter hand voor een gloednieuwe cantate, speciaal geschreven voor dit programma.
