Spectacular beats and grooves by innovative jazz band from Berlin. Pre-show by top vocal talent from Amsterdam As it is becoming a tradition in March, it’s time for our DATSKAT WEEKEND. On Friday we kick off with the TOS and the Moses Yoofee Trio, on Saturday it’s all about PARRA.DICE and Nubiyan Twist. Jazz flourishes in Berlin, thanks to young musicians who infuse the genre with hip-hop, electronica and afrobeat. One of the most notable acts in the scene is the Moses Yoofee Trio, who were awarded the German Jazz Prize for best live act last year. On YouTube and TikTok the band already went viral spectacular beats and grooves, sounding like a hip-hop DJ remixing jazz records. Early 2025 the new album MYT will be released on Nils Frahm’s label LEITER. The band consists of pianist and keyboardist Moses Yoofee, bassist Roman Klobe and drummer Noah Fürbringer. Common influences are innovative jazz musicians such as Robert Glasper and fellow townsman Petter Eldh. Beforehand, TOS will open the evening. The Amsterdam-based queer artist brings a mix of neo-soul, R&B, hip-hop and jazz. Inspired by legends like d’Angelo, Stevie Wonder and Erykah Badu, TOS invites you to dive into his world, where music is an act of unconditional love and vulnerability.
