The Scott Reeves Jazz Orchestra, established in 2008, features 18 prominent New York jazz musicians, including vocalist Carolyn Leonhart and saxophonist Steve Wilson. Scott Reeves, a veteran trombonist and Professor Emeritus at the City College of New York, leads the ensemble through a repertoire of his own arrangements, covering works by Shorter, Corea, and Jobim, alongside original compositions. For their sixth appearance at Birdland, the orchestra will perform a selection of established favorites and new material, notably featuring a debut of Reeves' scoring of the influential Wayne Shorter recording, 'The All Seeing Eye.'
