Pearl & the Oysters are international adventurers in eclectic pop who moved to Los Angeles in 2020. Juliette Pearl Davis and Joachim Polack met as music-obsessed high schoolers in Paris, bonding over a mutual love for Burt Bacharach and Antônio Carlos Jobim. Their music alchemizes influences from Brazilian Tropicália and analog synths to jazz and the Great American Songbook into a kaleidoscopic, space-age sound. On their fifth album, Planet Pearl, the duo explores bittersweet themes of alienation and rootlessness against a backdrop of lush, tropical textures and hypnotic melodies.
