Lido Pimienta
Grammy-nominated Colombian-Canadian multidisciplinary artist Lido Pimienta combines music, performance, and visual arts to celebrate Caribbean identity. Her work explores Afro-Indigenous traditions, cumbia, and electro-pop with a DIY punk aesthetic. Since her breakthrough with the Polaris Music Prize-winning 'La Papessa' and the critically acclaimed 'Miss Colombia', her sound has evolved to include chamber music and contemporary classical compositions. Her latest project, 'Caribenya', blends electro-cumbia and dembow with ambient textures to discuss diaspora, community, and cultural resistance.
