Montreuil Sous Bass stems from a local need to create a space dedicated to low-frequency, impactful music influenced by soundsystem culture. Exploring hybrids of past, present, and future, the guest DJs emphasize heavy bass. Dougie Jones, originally from the Basque Country and inspired by the soundsystems of Toulouse, brings a mix that ranges across the bass music spectrum, from chest-vibrating bass to emotional melodies. DJ Servidor, originally from Peru and based in Montreuil since 2020, blends hardcore, IDM, and percussive power with deep bass frequencies. Qant navigates various styles of soundsystem culture, from UK techno to jungle, and is also a mixing and mastering engineer for the Egregore Collective.
