Domingo Hindoyan, the new Music Director of the Los Angeles Opera, conducts the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a performance of Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, "New World." The symphony captures the American landscape through spiritual and folk-inspired melodies. The program also features the world premiere of Miguel Farías’ Mistralianas, featuring soprano Sonya Yoncheva, a work that pays tribute to the Nobel Prize-winning Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral. The evening opens with Samuel Barber’s theatrical piece, Medea's Dance of Vengeance.
