Dwight’s Travels in Music

Within mere moments, you’ll know it: Dwight Breinburg has a voice that speaks straight to your heart. Tonight, this talented singer, violinist and percussionist teams up with the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra for a special performance featuring his own compositions. From Arabic music to flamenco, the blend of Dwight’s authentic sound and the orchestra’s rich timbres promises an unforgettable evening. Dwight Breinburg grew up in the Dutch province of Zeeland. From an early age, he was fascinated by the rhythms and melodies of Moroccan music. In 2011, he co-founded the Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra (AAO), a fertile ground where his talents as a versatile multi-instrumentalist flourished. Dwight’s renditions of classic Arabic songs are simply breathtaking. Developed in close partnership with his peers at the AAO, this new programme promises to be a journey through diverse musical styles and stories, with connection as its constant compass. Outdoor concert This Terrace Concert is an outdoor event. The sun can be intense and the wind can be quite strong near the water, so come prepared. In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the performance will be held indoors in the Entrance Hall, which overlooks the river IJ.
