MIRANDA VEROULI QUINTET “BRAZILIAN ROMANCE” SATURDAY 11/1 at 22.30 The well-known performer of Brazilian music, Miranda Verouli, together with the excellent jazzmen of her quintet, invites us to follow them on a trip to the land of bossa nova, samba and tropicalia. They select beautiful songs from the Brazilian Songbook, by great composers such as Antônio Carlos Jobim, Caetano Veloso, Chico Buarque, Gilberto Gil, Milton Nascimento and, arranging them with the unique Brazilian jazz sound of the group, create an irresistible atmosphere that transports us to the nightclubs of Rio de Janeiro. Additionally, Miranda translates lyrics and tells stories from the creation of the songs, which puts us in the mood of the era. Miranda Verouli, is a singer/songwriter with a long-standing presence in the Greek jazz and World scene. She is considered the Ambassador of Brazilian music in Greece and in 2018, she was honoured by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil with the Medal of the Knight of the Order of Rio Branco, for her contribution to the promotion of Brazilian music in Greece.
