Mo Dotti + Thrilled
Mo Dotti - Main: Mo Dotti's debut album, "Opaque," is a brilliant example of atmospheric punk: a mix of Dinosaur Jr.-esque din and melodies you could easily sing along to on a Sunday. The Los Angeles four-piece builds on the glow-in-the-dark fuzz of their "Blurring" EP and the psychedelic experiments of "Guided Imagery." They recently opened for Otoboke Beaver and played Slide Away Festival at the invitation of shoegazers Nothing. That building tension is evident on "Opaque," which combines the expansive intensity of early Ride EPs with the sharp beauty of My Bloody Valentine during their "Isn't Anything" era. What brings it all together are the songs themselves: that's what sets Mo Dotti apart in the dream pop landscape.
