Jazz Thursday w/ Amsterdam Jazz Trio + Floris van der Vlugt
Jazz lovers, unite. Join us every Thursday for a free live jazz session in our lobby. Grab a drink, take a seat, and unwind from a hard day’s work during Jazz Thursdays at Werkplaats. Each edition, we welcome fabulous jazz musicians. Whether it’s the renowned Amsterdam Jazz Trio (Jochem Braat on piano, Tijn Jans on drums, and Adrie Braat on double bass), intimate duos, or special guests ranging from saxophonists to jazz singers and vibraphonists – expect an evening filled with top-tier jazz. For this edition the Amsterdam Jazz Trio will be joined by special guest Floris van der Vlugt on saxophone. Floris studied Jazz Saxophone at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and has since built a diverse career as a saxophonist, composer, and artistic organizer. He leads projects like Warm Bad, an improvised live music and dance event, and has worked in music theater with Van der Vlugt & Co. Beyond his own projects, Floris has performed with Diggy Dex, Jeangu Macrooy, KOFFIE, and Gare du Nord, and contributed to productions by Orkater, Theater Na de Dam, and Tafel van Vijf. His work bridges jazz, pop, and interdisciplinary projects, from North Sea Jazz Festival to experimental audio tours like Reed, a Soundwalk (2024).
