Barbara Morgenstern is one of Germany’s most distinctive musicians, shaping Berlin’s independent music scene for more than 20 years. From the living-room scene of the 1990s to award-winning theater productions, she has consistently followed her own artistic path. Returning to the stage solo, she presents new material from her upcoming album, featuring prophet synthesizer, voice, and electronics. Tonia Reeh presents her recently released album Blues Babies—dirty indie folk with acoustic guitar, raw vocals, and sharp, intimate storytelling. A long-standing figure of Berlin’s indie underground, her musical journey spans indie post-rock, electro-trash, and piano punk. Her songs are feminist, anarchic, and unapologetically direct.
