Documentaire over het leven van Darius Brubeck, zoon van de legendarische jazzmuzikant Dave Brubeck. Darius is jazzpianist en heeft ondanks de schaduw van zijn vader een indrukwekkend eigen pad bewandeld. Tijdens de Apartheid in Zuid-Afrika richtte hij de eerste universitaire jazzopleiding van het continent op, toegankelijk voor iedereen ongeacht kleur. Regisseur Michiel ten Kleij volgde Darius vijf jaar lang over de hele wereld, resulterend in een film vol archiefbeelden en interviews over muziek als verbindende kracht in tijden van verdeeldheid. Na de film is er een live optreden van jazzmuzikant Benjamin Herman in de Kringbar.
