GEORGE, led by drummer and composer John Hollenbeck, performs music that blends vintage funk, electroacoustic jazz, and art-pop. The ensemble features Anna Webber on tenor sax and flute, Sarah Rossy on vocals and synthesizer, and Chiquita Magic on synthesizers and vocals. Their debut album, Letters to George, was celebrated for its compelling compositions, while their 2026 follow-up, Looking for Consonance, was recorded at Berlin's Hansa Studios. The band name serves as a tribute to George Floyd while also referencing a wide spectrum of historical figures named George.
