James Frawley was an American director and actor recognized for his prolific television career and his direction of the 1979 film The Muppet Movie.
He is best known for directing the original The Muppet Movie and for establishing the visual style of the television series The Monkees.
He was a long-time member of the Actors Studio, having joined the organization in 1961.
