Ο Ρίτσαρντ είναι ένας νέος άντρας που στα πλαίσια των διακοπών του γυρίζει ανά τον κόσμο αναζητώντας νέες εμπειρίες κι απολαύσεις. Τίποτα όμως δεν μοιάζει να τον γεμίζει μέχρι τη στιγμή που ένας νεαρός άντρας λίγο πριν αυτοκτονήσει του δίνει έναν χάρτη που θα τον οδηγήσει σ' ένα απομακρυσμένο νησί, σ' έναν επίγειο παράδεισο που κανείς δεν γνωρίζει. Ξεκινώντας για το νησί αυτό θα γνωρίσει ένα ζευγάρι Γάλλων και θα τους προτείνει να τον ακολουθήσουν. Όταν φτάσουν στο νησί θα ανακαλύψουν ότι εκεί ζει μια μικρή κοινότητα η οποία και θα τους μυήσει στον μυστικό τους κόσμο. Τα πράγματα όμως δεν είναι έτσι όπως τα ονειρεύονται.
