I like the whole movie but during the opening and closing minutes (basically when Jim Steinman songs are being performed) I’m convinced it’s the best movie ever made

Willem Dafoe? More like Willem "DA FOE" :O(this is my worst review of all time)
walter hill, ridley scott and michael mann all figured out the special secret formula to making a great movie in the 80s: just pour gallons of water onto the streets so you can capture all those sweet, sweet reflections on celluloid. yet at some point in the 2000s, filmmakers forgot this secret, and as a result, cinema has become much, MUCH worse. bring back the wet pavement!!!
A soldier-for-hire returns to his hometown to rescue a famous rock singer after she is kidnapped by a ruthless biker gang, setting off a stylistic battle in a mythic version of the 1950s.
Walter Hill directed this 1984 film, known for his distinctively rhythmic action style in works like The Warriors.
While it is classified as an action film, it is framed as a 'rock and roll fable' and features prominent musical performances woven throughout the narrative.
