X AMENDMENTS: Carla Kihlstedt, Rafael Osés, and Dither (Night 1)
In advance of the midterm elections, composer and improviser Carla Kihlstedt and poet Rafael Osés present X Amendments, an improvised sonic structure for an orchestra of voices, electric guitars, and audience. Using the first ten amendments of the United States Constitution—The Bill of Rights—as source material, the performance explores individual and collective freedoms, rights, responsibilities, agency, and restrictions.
