Formed in Malmö, Sweden in 2001, The Radio Dept. have long held a strong position in independent music. Founded by Johan Duncanson and Martin Carlberg, the band emerged with a sound that fused pop melody with lo-fi textures and understated electronics. Their work has unfolded at a deliberately unhurried pace, defined by instinct, patience, and a self-imposed standard where material is only released when it feels fully resolved. Over time, their catalogue has developed a quiet but enduring following, with each release continuing to find new listeners long after its initial cycle. This performance is part of Pitchfork Music Festival London.
