Drummer Brian Blade leads The Fellowship Band, a group formed in New Orleans alongside pianist Jon Cowherd. The ensemble has released seven albums over three decades, including their 1998 debut Fellowship and 2023's Kings Highway. Blade's musical journey began with the violin before he transitioned to drums, influenced by church music and jazz masters like John Coltrane and Art Blakey. The band members, including Chris Thomas, Myron Walden, and Melvin Butler, have performed at legendary venues such as the Village Vanguard and major jazz festivals worldwide.
