Four Reykjavík-based artists will present four interrelated solo performances based on DIY instruments, idiosyncratic techniques, and repurposed materials. Their collaboration explores the boundaries between physical and digital sound production — biosignals, electromagnetic field detection (circuit sniffing), neural audio synthesis, and light-to-sound conversion. The concert is part of the Optical Scores project and is supported by the Culture and Art program of the Nordic Culture Point organization. Áki Ásgeirsson is an Icelandic composer and multimedia artist who creates work for traditional instruments alongside custom software and computer-controlled systems. Þóranna Dögg Björnsdóttir is a Reykjavík-based artist whose practice bridges cinema and live music through sculpture and sound art. Árni Valur Kristinsson is an electronic musician and filmmaker focused on experimental video and improvised performance. Stefanos Skialivas is a musician and technologist developing DIY interfaces for neural audio synthesis and physical modelling.
