Pianist Mitsuko Uchida joins Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Los Angeles Philharmonic for their first collaboration in over 20 years. The program features Ravel’s jazz-inflected Piano Concerto in G, known for its delicacy and purity of tone. The performance also includes Salonen’s palindrome-style fanfare and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique, a dramatic work depicting a kaleidoscopic fantasy of love and obsession.
