Rachmaninov’s profoundly personal Symphony No. 2 takes center stage in this BBC Proms concert featuring Manchester’s Hallé orchestra and Principal Conductor Kahchun Wong. The program opens with the glowing soundscape of Ravel’s ‘The Valley of the Bells’, followed by pianist Alexandra Dariescu making her Proms debut in Nadia Boulanger’s poetic 1912 Fantasy for piano and orchestra, a work that blends influences from Franck, Fauré, and Stravinsky.
