Black Communion 3rd Edition 2026 1st evening

BLACK Communion is an event series that unapologetically promotes creative practices in sonics within the Black diaspora. This edition features the sharing of experiences from the transnational Afro-diaspora, breaking down genre boundaries and encouraging experimentation through collaboration. It celebrates the connection between artists from diverse backgrounds and communities, united by sonic activism ranging from composition to improvisation and sound art. For the third edition of the 2026 series, three artists from the Americas, Europe, and Africa encounter one another. On this first evening, each artist performs individually, setting the stage for collaborative improvisations on the subsequent night.
