Bebop, Cool Jazz, Hard Bop or Jazz rock – all these styles would be unthinkable without him. Trumpeter and bandleader Miles Davis stands like no other for radical innovations in jazz. His cool, often raw trumpet sound became his unmistakable trademark. In 2026, Miles Davis would have turned 100 – an occasion that curator Siggi Loch is taking up to open the 14th season of Jazz at Berlin Philharmonic with a tribute to the great jazz musician. US trumpet star Theo Croker celebrates Miles 100 together with his quartet and the Norwegian Wind Ensemble under the direction of Geir Lysne.
