Jacqui Dankworth

Acclaimed vocalist Jacqui Dankworth MBE performs music from the classic British albums Shakespeare and All That Jazz and Wordsongs. These works, originally composed by her father Sir John Dankworth and recorded by her mother Dame Cleo Laine, are reimagined through Jacqui's unique perspective. Drawing on her extensive background as a vocalist and actor with the Royal Shakespeare Company, she delivers a virtuosic performance that blends jazz with the brilliance of Shakespearean poetry. The concert features settings of famous sonnets and plays, including Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer’s Day and a unique musical retelling of Macbeth via Dunsinane Blues. Jacqui is accompanied by pianist Charlie Wood and a world-class band for this distinctive musical event.
