Slater Nalley

Nineteen-year-old Slater Nalley is a rising singer-songwriter from Atlanta, GA who gained national recognition as a Top 5 finalist on Season 23 of American Idol. A self-taught musician, Slater began playing piano at age 12 and later picked up the guitar, using both to craft emotionally resonant original songs. His breakout moment came with the song “Traces of You,” an original ballad he wrote to honor the late Carter Davis, the son of his high school English teacher, Michele Davis. Inspired by a poem Mrs. Davis had written, Slater transformed it into a heartfelt tribute that moved the American Idol judges to tears.
