Underground καλλιτέχνης jazz
Originally from the U.K., Orlando was destined for an athletic career and was briefly a professional cricketer, until he was granted a place at London’s Royal Academy of Music, where his lifelong passion for music won out. Since moving stateside in 2003, Orlando has become one of the most accomplished bassists in contemporary Jazz. He has toured and recorded with Branford Marsalis, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Antonio Sanchez, Leslie Odom Jr, David Sanchez, Joey Calderazzo, Ari Hoenig, Billy Cobham, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Wayne Krantz and has also released four albums as a leader including the critically acclaimed “OWL Trio” with his long time associates Lage Lund and Will Vinson. His latest endeavors include Romantic Funk - a pastiche of classic fusion sounds and ideas, updated by his signature palette of polyrhythm and abstract exploration - and a chord-less trio with jazz legends Mark Turner and Jeff "Tain" Watts.
Orlando Le Fleming plays contemporary jazz, incorporating elements of post-bop, nu-jazz, and fusion, as heard on his album "Wandering Talk".
