Marcello Carelli, drummer and composer, is one of the most versatile young musicians on the scene today. Originally from Bedford Hills, NY, he is currently getting his Master’s Degree at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music under the mentorship of Peter Erskine. Marcello has played with distinguished groups such as the Russell Ferrante Trio, the John Daversa Small Group, the Brian Lynch Artist Ensemble, the Frost Concert Jazz Band, and the Thornton Jazz Orchestra. He has also played with a variety of esteemed musicians including Ira Sullivan, Dave Leibman, Andy Fusco, Walt Weiskopf, Martin Bejerano, Wycliffe Gordon, and Shelly Berg.
