After collaborating with artists including Theo Croker, Venna , Anatole Muster and Bubby Lewis, London-based drummer, composer, and bandleader Jon Onabowu is emerging as a distinctive voice within the UK’s contemporary jazz landscape. His debut album "Now’s The Time" brings together collaborators including David Mrakpor (Blue Lab Beats), Anatole Muster, and Insxght, weaving elements of UK jazz, hip-hop, and jazz-drill into a rhythm-led, forward-looking sound. The project reflects the spirit of the UK’s underground jazz community, foregrounding the musicians and collaborative networks that continue to shape its evolving sound. Jon has performed at festivals including North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Cross The Tracks, and Love Supreme, and holds a residency at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club. Through his own projects and collaborations, he continues to contribute to the next chapter of UK jazz while developing a voice that is both deeply rooted and distinctly his own.
