Eden Bareket

Born in Argentina, raised in Israel, and based in New York City, baritone saxophonist Eden Bareket is known for a "distinct lyricism" and genre-bending versatility that spans from modern jazz to Ethiopian grooves. His latest project, Zaman (2026), is his most personal work to date—a musical journey tracing 100 years of family history across four continents. Stepping away from complex cerebral jazz, Bareket embraces earthy, ancient rhythms to tell the story of his ancestors' migration. The album weaves a tapestry of North African Darbuka beats, Argentinean Zamba, Klezmer, and Andalusian melodies, creating a sound where "past, present, and future blend together." Following his acclaimed releases Choice (2016), Night (2018), and Day Dream (2021) on Fresh Sound Records, Bareket is releasing Zaman as a series of monthly singles from January through August 2026. Each track offers a distinct chapter of this century-long voyage, inviting listeners to travel through forgotten moments of longing, hope, and endurance.
