Doris Delay

Doris Delay was an indie pop band in Orlando, Florida from 2004-2007, originally formed from the remnants of The Harmonic La-Dee-Da's, a psychedelic pop band founded by singer, guitarist and songwriter Dominic Humerickhouse. As a trio with Dominic on lead vocals, Matthew Stokeley on bass, and Nik Ritchie (later of Mad Sexual Genius & Fat Night) on drums, they released three 4-song EPs in 2005 titled Elephant, Fight, and Dragon. Soon after, Keyvan Acosta joined the group on keyboard, though he can first be heard providing the Spanish spoken word performance on "A Gay Romp" from the Fight EP. The band performed frequently in Orlando, including several live appearances on WPRK, while they worked on their first album. Matthew left the band and was replaced by bassist Russell Harrison (later of C.H.E.W.) before their first tour of the southeast with local pop-rock group The Courtneys. They broke up in 2007 without ever releasing their album. Now, in 2022, the band has decided to release all of their recordings to streaming services, including the never before released The Imperial Racquet Club (coming soon).
