Cindy Blackman Santana is an innovator & virtuoso drummer whose artistry spans the realms of jazz & rock. Cindy has been touring the globe & recording with artists including Lenny Kravitz, Pharoah Sanders, Cassandra Wilson, Bill Laswell, Joss Stone, Joe Henderson, Buckethead, Don Pullen, Hugh Masakela, and Angela Bofill. She tours & performs with her own bands, Cindy Blackman Santana Group and Another Lifetime. From 1992-2007 & 2014-2015 she was the drummer in Lenny Kravitz’s band. In 2011, Cindy, Vernon Reid, Jack Bruce, & John Medeski formed Spectrum Road, dedicated to the music of Tony Williams. In 2016, Cindy joined Santana full-time and has been mesmerizing live audiences around the globe and in the studio ever since. In Fall of 2020, she will deliver a new solo album entitled, “Give The Drummer Some”, with songs that span the realm of jazz, rock, and funk & featuring Cindy’s incredible versatility both behind the kit and in front of the microphone.
