Underground καλλιτέχνης indie rock
Deep Country is an anthology-like collection by Bruiser and Bicycle. Spanning across 15 songs the band shows a rich appreciation for disparate styles of music, with notes of jangle pop, art rock, tin pan alley, americana, and progressive folk. The lead single “Waterfight”, a dynamic and adventurous introduction to Deep Country, staggers somewhere between art pop, and progressive folk music of the 60’s. Moving between introspection and reaching for the intangible, their strong melodic sensibilities weave what feels familiar into chartless territory. On their third album the band strips away the maximalism of their previous release Holy Red Wagon, trading out electric guitars in favor of acoustic instrumentation to parry away from the symphonic and toward simpler songcraft. Recorded together live for the first time with their long time producer and collaborator “Scoops” Dardaris (Undeath, Alex G, Another Michael, They Are Gutting a Body of Water) they capture the energetic pulse of their musicianship and creativity in each performance. Deep Country displays a spectrum of songwriting that reaches as far as the rural sprawl evoked in the album title, showing a collaboration that is both dynamic and cohesive, contemporary yet timeless, familiar but cutting edge. Deep Country out October 8th, 2025.
Bruiser and Bicycle plays a blend of jangle pop, art rock, and progressive folk, as heard on their album Deep Country.
