Brea Fournier & the Dream Ballet is an NYC-based pop-rock/pop-punk collective. Composed of Brea Fournier, Ben Shanblatt, Sophia Bondi, and Noah Rosner, their sound has been described as “Paramore, but in the ‘80s” and “Joan Jett attitude meets Joni Mitchell lyricism.” In 2022, the Dream Ballet recorded their debut rock opera Manic Pixie Dream Girl! with producer Barb Morrison (Franz Ferdinand/Blondie), engineer Jeremy Kinney (FLETCHER), and mastering engineer Randy Merrill (Lady Gaga/Olivia Rodrigo). This bold concept album tells the story of the titular Manic Pixie Dream Girl through the lens of post-Me Too era feminism as she fights to prove to both her audience––and herself––that she is more than the indie film archetype men have written her to be. Manic Pixie Dream Girl! was released on February 9th, 2024 to much critical acclaim in outlets such as Fresh Off The Scene, Buzz Music LA, and Broadway World Music. The Dream Ballet is a regular fixture in New York City's legendary music venues such as City Winery, The Bitter End, Arlene's Grocery, The Bowery Electric, and Mercury Lounge. As members of Brooklyn’s indie rock scene, they also frequent underground venues like Highside Workshop and Rubulad.
