Dimitra Galani
A homegrown classic greek pop artist.
Dimitra Galani is considered one of the greatest Greek performers. From her childhood she starts studying guitar and music theory with her first participation being "Ena Hamogelo" composed by Dimos Moutsis and Nikos Gatsos. From the ‘70s until today, the greatest Greek composers recognize the uniqueness of her voice and write songs for her. Some of them are: Stavros Xarchakos Manos Hadjidakis, Eleni Karaindrou, Giannis Spanos, George Chatzinassios, Christodoulos Halaris, Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Loizos. Vassilis Tsitsanis, one of the greatest composers of rebetiko folk music, writes songs for her. In recent years, Galani also started to write her own music as well as music for films and TV for which she won multiple awards.
