Based out of Knoxville, Tennessee, United Pursuit is a Christian indie folk worship collective made up of multiple singers, songwriters, and instrumentalists. Not unlike California's Bethel Music ensemble, United Pursuit offers a passionate, folk-inspired take on modern worship music. The roots of the band date back to 2006 when a group of friends purchased a house in a run-down part of Knoxville with the aim of living and making music together. Over the coming years, they developed in size and sound, recording sessions at their house with varying lineups. At times they have acted as a sort of backing ensemble for specific songwriters within the group like Will Reagan and Andrea Marie, but their 2015 release, Simple Gospel, played to their strengths as a unified group. The collective remained prolific over the next year, releasing a new EP, Looking for a Savior, in August 2016 and following it with an edition of their monthly EP series and a collection of B-sides from the Simple Gospel sessions. January 2017 saw the release of a new full-length called Tell All My Friends, which was billed to Will Reagan and United Pursuit. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
