For Stan Walker (tribe affiliations: Ngai Tūhoe, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Pūkenga, Tūhourangi Ngāti Wāhiao, Ngāti Pikiao, Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Porou, Ngai Tahu and Ngāpuhi) feels like 2024 is just the beginning. Stan stepped into the spotlight in 2009 and for the first seven years of his career focused on exploring his sound and refining his skills as a singer and songwriter. The subsequent seven years were dedicated to deepening the connection with his cultural identity, reclaiming his life and health, and weaving this journey of reclamation into his artistic expression. The Tauranga, native is now a multi platinum selling artist and the winner of prestigious awards . He has also developed an artistic ecosystem that has seen him create across mediums and add Author, Actor, Business Owner, Director, Fashion Designer and Producer to his repertoire. As Stan continues on this regenerative creative journey and expansive career, he feels unapologetic about who he is and the message he has to share. In November 2023 STAN released his composition I AM written for the AVA Duvernay motion picture "Origin" For Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori 2024, STAN wrote and released 'KI TAKU AWA' in memory of his pāpa.
