THUNDER BAE is a solo female artist from Düsseldorf, raised on machine music and jazz, rooted there since childhood but now based elsewhere in France after outgrowing the city’s posh-ish polish and its accumulated memories. Since going independent, she’s gained the confidence to play far more shows, clocking around 40 concerts in 2025, and settled into producing her own sound, somewhere around progressive pop with rockish overtones and prayer like vocals. Thunder Bae is working toward her debut album, planned for 2026, and is releasing singles in the meantime. Her most recent one, “mercybeggingboys,” is a rupture, a song for those who gave too much and are now taking their names back. It’s about emancipation. She’s in an ongoing collaboration with Propaganda and became their new lead singer; they recorded and released an album in 2024 that caused a real buzz in the underground, followed in 2025 by remixes from artists like Moby, Vancouver based Rhys Fulber (Delerium), Jimi Tenor, and others. Sonically, she sits somewhere between Kate Bush kissing Billie Eilish while having an affair with Cocteau Twins. I hate writing bios in the third person
Thunder Bae creates a blend of deep house, progressive pop, and electronic music, characterized by ethereal vocals and rockish overtones, drawing comparisons to Kate Bush and Billie Eilish.
