A homegrown, underground crank wave act.
Tapir! was a six-piece collective from South London whose music blended folk sensibilities with electronic textures and a distinct, otherworldly art-folk narrative. Their sound is characterized by a playful, handmade DIY production and a magical, amorphous nostalgia, drawing influences from diverse artists while forging a unique sonic identity. The band, which formed in 2019, announced their disbandment in May 2025.
Tapir! plays crank wave - built more for the room than a playlist.
Tapir!'s live sets are loose and exploratory - consistent in quality but rarely identical night to night.
Tapir! is a 6-piece group: Evelyn Gray, Ronnie Longfellow, Tom Rogers-Coltman, Will McCrossan, Emily Hubbard, Wilfred Cartwright.
