A nostalgic swing music artist.
Sugarpie and the Candymen play their unique blend of gypsy jazz, early rock'n'roll, 40's swing and Beatle-esque pop, in a mixture that could be called "progressive swing". Along with their songwriting, their trademark is reworking well-known rock and pop classics in a retro-style reminiscent of New Orleans, Django Reinhardt and the big band era. Revered hits like Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" or Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" get transfigured in a completely new and original way. Born in 2008, the band has released six albums and has been touring Europe in the major jazz festivals like Umbria Jazz, JazzAscona or Montreux.
Sugarpie And The Candymen play progressive swing and gypsy jazz, known for their retro-style covers of pop and rock classics.
