His work explores the dual forces of isolation and belonging, of longing and defiance, all delivered with theatrical flair and unmistakable swagger that both welcomes and unsettles. The latest: On the heels of supporting Will Wood’s sold out 2024 U.S. tour, Shayfer James will be Summoning his new album of the same name with a full band U.S. headline tour beginning on April 8th, 2025 and limited solo dates in February. The performances will feature songs from the new album as well as songs from his entire catalog. Shayfer is an internationally touring American singer-songwriter, pianist, and composer known for hauntingly beautiful and bombastic music that blends elements of rock, pop, soul and cabaret. Shayfer began playing piano and writing music at a young age, drawing inspiration from diverse musical influences such as Sam Cooke, Stephen Sondheim, Johnny Cash, Elton John, Nat King Cole and The Native Tongues. Shayfer has independently 4 LPs and 5 EPs along with multiple singles, each showcasing the evolution of his unique style. Shayfer is also a prolific film and theatre composer and arranger, having written scores for numerous movies, dance productions, and theatrical pieces.
