A founding member of the legendary Buraka Som Sistema and the Enchufada label, he has been shaping the rhythms of global electronic music for two decades. Across four solo albums – the most recent, Soma, released in 2024 – he has carried the sounds of contemporary Lisbon to an international audience. As a producer, he has crafted new soundscapes for M.I.A., helped shape the music of Pierre Kwenders and Princess Nokia, collaborated with beat masters like Sango and Mr. Carmack, and championed a long list of Portuguese talent – from Dino D’Santiago and Mayra Andrade to Pedro Mafama, EU.CLIDES and Rita Vian. If there is one constant in his work, it is the ease with which Branko moves between the local and the global: whether hosting his residency on NTS Radio, traveling the world with RTP for the documentary series Club Atlas, or recording DJ sets in Serra da Estrela and the Azores.
