Brooklyn based rock'n'roller, Michael Younker (previously Gymshorts, Triathalon) follows up his debut EP, “Sweet Things” with the boppy & sardonic “Date Nite Denim”. Now joined by Hunter Jayne (Triathalon), John Zimmerman (The Muckers), and Scott Dence (Dumb Doctors), Younker has formed a dream team providing the most electric of performances. Younker’s “Date Nite Denim” feels like speeding down the highway listening to “Born to Be Wild”, but this time in the back of a taxi cab. An anthemic release with “The Boys Are Back in Town” energy set in modern times; flippantly self-aware, a 360-ethicality that turns the funhouse mirror on the author. Filled with point/counterpoint. Polished, scuzzy, outlandish, & matter-of-fact. Based in New York City, and working as a production designer for fashion photography & film, his music melds lighthearted cynicism with unashamed big rock motifs...as complete and bratty as any other piece of his portfolio; greased up and polished grime.
