Tiki Masawa

Born in the Netherlands, Tiki migrated to the Caribbean island of Aruba at the age of ten. Getting introduced to his heritage, he quickly learned the language and got to combine the best of both worlds. Culturally as well as musically. Moving back to the Netherlands and making Amsterdam his HQ, he was a part of a Caribbean band “Roots Palmera” that performed all over the Netherlands and the Caribbean. After the band fell apart due to different interests. Tiki decided to go solo. Because he sees music as food for the soul. He feels it isn’t right to only eat pizza everyday. And following that line of thinking feels he should not stick to one genre for his musical expression. For this reason, Tiki Masawa sets out to release 4 EP’s in four different genres before 2025 is over. - A Rap EP in his mother’s language Papiamento, to honour his heritage. - A techno EP to explore his interest in EDM in the form of melodic techno. - A Caribbean reggae EP because of his love for the genre. - A piano EP with only instrumental songs. He would love to share his musical explorations with everyone that has ears and hopes each person finds something in one or more of the songs he created.
