An underground, nostalgic rocksteady artist.
With deep grooves and soulful harmonies, Los Billtones are a seven-piece band from Zurich reviving the golden age of Jamaican rocksteady. Drawing inspiration from legends like The Paragons, Keith & Tex and contemporary torchbearers like The Frightnrs, the group brings the lush warmth of 60s and 70s sounds into the present. Known for rich three-part vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and a tight rhythm section powered by organ, trombone, and guitar, Los Billtones craft songs that feel both timeless and intimate. Their debut release “For A While” dropped in February 2023, followed by the two double singles “Back In Time / Put Your Head On My Shoulder” in winter 2024 and "Atlantis / Rattlesnake Twist" in summer 2025. In their 2025 EP "Nothing To Complain" you will find, of course, some classy rocksteady tunes. But stomping steppers enthusiasts will also get their money's worth. The first four songs threat the small edge between loving and longing, meanwhile the last tune "It Ain't Easy" is an anthem against inequality. It’s music made for dusty vinyl lovers and dancefloor dreamers alike. As if lifted from an attic turntable and spun back to life - better get ready, come do rocksteady!
Los Billtones specialize in rocksteady and early reggae, blending deep grooves, soulful three-part harmonies, and a tight rhythm section reminiscent of 60s and 70s Jamaican sounds.
The band members include Nicolas Reinhardt (vocals, keys), Linus Sax (drums, vocals, trombone, percussion), Franz Flückiger (organ), Mario Schläpfer (lead guitar), Paul Märki (bass), and Andreas (trombone).
Los Billtones are based in Zurich, Switzerland.
