FlyByWire is a nu-metal/rap-metal band from Athens, Greece, founded in 2009 by frontman Yiannis Boutas (Phoenix). Blending heavy guitars, hip-hop samples, and spoken-word vocal lines, their sound channels influences from Rage Against the Machine, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, and Cypress Hill, with a distinct urban and industrial edge . Their debut album X-isosi (Εξίσωση) (2012) was mastered by Vlado Meller (Limp Bizkit, RATM, Beastie Boys, Kanye West, Metallica, Muse, Linkin Park). The singles Kopana (2013), Poso Akoma (2014), and Xamenos (2015) followed, each accompanied by striking visuals and recognition through Red Bull Unplugged Sessions . Lyrically, FlyByWire explore alienation, inner struggle, social oppression, and resistance – themes that reflect Phoenix’s vision and resonate through both the band’s music and visual identity. On stage, FlyByWire are known for their explosive live energy, leaving a strong imprint on audiences and media alike . After a hiatus, the band returns in 2025 with the comeback single Chronos, released independently via Reborn Records and mastered by Acle Kahney (TesseracT).
